This years’ Kendrick Cup was played at the New York R&T.
The tournament draws its name from Mr. C.C. Kendrick, who was a member of the Detroit Racquet Club, described in a 1952 article of the Montreal Star as a “veteran campaigner in international racket tournaments.” He led the U.S. to victory in the Rolland Cup of that same year, in a field that included such luminous names of past and present as Grant, Pell, Wood-Prince, McLernon, Cushing, MacDougall & McMaster.
In more contemporary news, congratulations to Matt Mackin of New York, who defeated Devin Vrabel of Chicago, 3/1 in the final.
